Today was my final appointment with hot dentist (well, the final appointment for the major work; I'll see him again in three months for a check-up). He removed final two fillings and replaced them - he was even nice enough to replace them with the white fillings, but only charged me (and my insurance) for the silver. Not only is he hot, but he's also nice. :) However, I discovered that he has absolutely no control over the suction-tube-thingy (what in the heck is that called?). During the last two appointments, the hygienist was completely in charge of the suction tube, but today, I guess hot dentist felt the need to be in control. The hygienist kept trying to grab the tube, but hot dentist kept telling him that he had it under control. Well, he didn't. He kept suctioning up my lip, tongue, gum... everything but the giant pool of water clogging up my throat. He even got my cheek (the outside) during one crazy moment in which he completely lost control of the tube and it wiggled around like a wild hose before sucking up my cheek. I left the office with two new fillings and a little red circle on the side of my face.
I then moved on to my doctor's appointment (sounds like a fun day, right?). I had an appointment with a new doctor, who ended up being awesome. I had to drive all the way to Wilmette to meet her, but it was definitely worth it - a good doctor is hard to find. She gave me a standard check-up & did a neck exam (I've been having some problems lately). Basically, a combination of an old whiplash injury from high school and an inordinate amount of stress have caused my neck to tense up so much that the right side is constantly spasming (which huuuurrrrttts!). One of the reasons I really liked her was b/c she offered me two options for healing - a drug route (muscle relaxers) & a natural route (deep tissue massages). She said she firmly believes in natural healing, but understands that sometimes, drugs are what people are comfortable with and need. I went with the massage option b/c I really like to avoid taking medications if possible. She has a massage therapist who practices under her license and takes patients in her office once a week, so I'm going back in two weeks to meet him. She thinks it will probably take three appointments to really help the situation, which is fine with me. Although I'm going to have to pay for it myself b/c I have crappy insurance, I feel much more comfortable taking the non-drug route.
I realized today that I only have six days before my summer class starts. I suppose I should write the syllabus sometime soon... it has just been too hot to think lately.

I roared at the thought of the little sucky thing going crazy on your cheek! Next time remind him that his use of the sucky thing left much to be desired. I am gladd the dental work is over for now!
I like the sound of your Physician. What is her name and where is her office? Where did you find her?
