Ten random thoughts (CA edition)

1. San Francisco really is full of steep, curvy streets.

2. Despite what many midwesterners think, CA does get cold (of course, I don't think 50-60 degrees is cold, but people there were complaining about how it was freezing).

3. Even in the "freezing" 50 degree weather, people still wear flip-flops. Puffy coats and flip-flops.

4. I LOVE palm trees and sea lions. :)

5. Even at a touristy restaurant, you can get a kick-ass cup of seafood bisque.

6. The prices in San Fran are comparable to Chicago - the price of gas was actually cheaper (however, housing is way more expensive there).

7. The Chinatown in San Fran is way nicer and about five times cheaper than in Chicago. Not fair.

8. The Haight/Ashbury area & Golden Gate Park are good places to score drugs at night (not that I bought anything, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a lack of offers).

9. San Fran has some of the most beautiful scenery (even nicer than my favorite places in England).

10. LAX sucks ass.

50-60 isn't cold, you're right (I'm from Pennsylvania) but a particularly nippy cold front did swoop down when you were here, following a few days of 70s-ish warmth, so you ran into people's grumpiness, no doubt.

"LAX sucks ass."

Yes, yes it does.

Why? LAX has always done perfectly well by me. Try flying out of Dulles or National to podunk central. After you see your 2nd possible flight get cancelled and you are stranded for the night....LAX starts to look like the promised land.

Always had WAY more trouble in Dulles and Ohare than LAX.
