I started the morning with a plea from my new Skechers; they begged me to wear them. Of course, I had to concede - who can refuse a pair of pink shoes?

Driving, driving, driving... IL is so blah.

After a trip around a flea market/farmer's market and another small walk around RL's hood, we were famished. We ate a really fantastic brunch at this restaurant (which felt like a bed & breakfast). I was fascinated by the tree growing out of the roof (yes, the rest of the trunk is inside the restaurant).

After our gigantic brunch, we walked around and checked out more of her town.

Later in the day, we were joined by another one of her friends and we took a drive further into the country for a strawberry festival. Mmmmmm...

Yes, my strawberry donut was bloody delicious!

Some people take their strawberries quite seriously.

The biggest rubber duckie I've ever seen.

Did you really think we could resist the chocolate strawberry fondue? Soooo yummy!!

Of course, we had to take a back-of-the-head shot before we went home (inspired by jo(e)).

My contribution for FUH2. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a better shot of me flipping it off because I was fumbling to get a pic before the guy drove away, but you get the idea.

I had a fantastic day - exactly what I needed. Yay! :)

I noticed the pink shoes but forgot to comment on them--they're great!
I totally missed the giant duckie. How could I have not seen that?!?
And there are plenty of Hummers out here in Greater Suburbia (I think I saw at least five on my way to TJ's and back), so if you feel the need to flip off more of them, head on out this way!
That sounds like a great day.
I have those same Sketchers in brown! Awesome day! You made me hungry...I missed you on Sunday.
Love those shoes... imagine how GREAT they would look with that strawberry skirt....
