It's true, I'm still around... I really didn't fall off the face of the earth. I just totally missed the entire month of August and the beginning part of September. Basically, this was due to the vast amount of stupidity, idiocy, and drama that has taken over Large College. Besides being annoying and rage-inducing, it has also left me regularly working 13-14 hour days. The BS at Large College has also encroached on my gym time, which is my much-needed form of stress relief. All of this has led to me turning into one grumpy, resentful, exhausted girl. Sigh.
I am working on another post to explain the situation at LC - it's one of those things that you just will not believe. In the meantime, I'm trying not to think too much about everything. In fact, today is the first day in almost a month in which I'm refusing to get sucked into the drama and I'm packing up my stuff on time in order to make it to the gym... and I will continue to follow that pattern for the rest of my time at LC (which I hope won't be all that much longer). I've learned that the higher-ups at LC truly do not care about what happens to the faculty (and actually think that all there is to our jobs is teaching - if you're not in class, you're not working).
Despite the craziness, I managed to have a lovely end to the summer...
- M & I attended the wedding of one of his childhood friends (best wedding cake ever!)
- We also saw a few fantastic movies, including this documentary (we were lucky enough to attend the showing that included a discussion with the director and most of the cast afterward) & went to a few Sox games
- Spent a day with Beebs & various friends in the land of furry tails and chainmail bras
- Attended a kinda horrible, but still fun bellydancing show with Beebs
- D & I did the dinner crawl and the ice cream festival (in the same week) - holy deliciousness! If they sell Graeter's ice cream anywhere near you, run there and pick up the Black Raspberry Chip - it is amazing!
- We also had a really fantastic dinner at Seasons 52 (love the scallops!) and powered through the Renegade Craft Fair (so many friggin' sweaty hipsters!)
- Saw Love, Loss, and What I Wore (surprisingly fun and touching)
So, what have you been up to? I guess a better question to ask would be is anyone even still here?? I miss my bloggy buddies!

BS at your college sounds like some of the BS going on at mine. ;)

Hey! Glad to see you back. I've been hiding out too. You're inspiring me to return to blogging again.
I'm still here and you know what I've learned? The world is full of BS and it's better if I just keep traveling. ;-)
I should join a gym.
Hey! Still here. Sounds like you had a blast!
